ALTRAFORMA

Altraforma is a generative new media artwork inspired by FOMAS and by the physical processes through which raw matter is shaped, transformed, and brought into new states. The piece explores the birth of matter from the heart of the Earth as a continuous cycle of pressure, tension, ignition, dissolution, and rebirth. Rather than presenting transformation as a linear process, Altraforma imagines it as an endless evolution in which no form is ever truly final, and every state contains the possibility of becoming something else. Projected in 360° onto a large suspended sphere, the artwork turned the surface into a living, organic skin in constant motion. Light, texture, and sound moved across the sphere through a sequence of seamless chapters, creating the impression of an autonomous organism shaped by invisible forces from within. Developed as an artistic interpretation of FOMAS’s work, Altraforma was selected by the company as the opening visual experience for the event celebrating its 70th anniversary. The work offered a more symbolic and emotional reading of its industrial world, transforming ideas of energy, pressure, and material evolution into an immersive audiovisual experience.
